Machines without practical use sway life without groove.

A series of four installation objects

Absorption

Absorption Machine

A wooden structure supports a glass container that releases a drop of water every 30 seconds. Upon contact with the ceramic, the drop is slowly absorbed. A heating element in contact with the ceramic releases heat through a thermostat-controlled system, preventing saturation.
Dimensions: 230 x 50 x 50 cm
Materials: paraju, muiracatiara, ceramic, water, glass, heating element, thermostat.

Rain

Roof Tile Rain Machine

A wooden structure supports a ceramic roof beneath a trough fitted with small holes. A manual water pump is operated to fill the container and initiate the rain. The water is collected by a gutter and directed back into the pump’s bucket so the cycle can be restarted. The sound is amplified through a microphone and speakers.
Dimensions: 265 x 125 x 50 cm
Materials: paraju, muiracatiara, ceramic, water, copper, iron, microphone, amplifier.

Dust

Dust-raising machine

Through a lever, air speed is increased by pressure, lifting dust inside the glass chamber.
Dimensions: 130 x 50 x 50 cm
Materials: paraju, muiracatiara, wood dust, metal, spring, glass.

Suspension

Suspension Machine

A small motor drives a neodymium magnet in a cyclical up-and-down motion. As the magnet moves, it draws in ore grains deposited inside a glass structure; attracted by the magnet, the grains become suspended. As the magnet moves away, the grains fall again.
Dimensions: 130 x 50 x 50 cm
Materials: paraju, muiracatiara, iron ore, neodymium magnet, glass, metal, 1 rpm motor, fan.
