2010

Carried out in 2010 in Arraial da Boa Morte, in the district of Belo Vale, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the project involved an experimental initiative centred on the creation and installation of a kinetic sculpture: a wind-powered slide projector in the central square of Arraial da Boa Morte – the In.Vento.

Through photography workshops and informal gatherings, the images gradually took shape and resulted in the collection presented in the projection.

Three sets of 50 slide photographs were created, covering different topics but all centred on the same concept: time. The photographs were taken by us and the students, addressing three themes: (1) the public space of the village, (2) the characters and their memories, (3) everyday life.

The sculpture was given its final design and executed by designers Hugo Baumecker and Saulo Policarpo. The project also benefited from the collaboration of Vanessa de Michelis, Victor Magalhães and Nian Pissolati

The realization of the project was made possible thanks to the support of the Arraial da Boa Morte Cultural Centre and the NGO APHAA.BV.
Project funded by FUNARTE through the grant: Aesthetic Interactions – Artistic Residencies in Cultural Centres (2009 edition)
